All-American heavy hitters bring some sublime sounds to Jersey and Jones Beach for a stacked bill. Bob Dylan, kinglike in the headliner slot, leads a killer band live—go in with an open mind, rather than a nostalgic one, and you'll be handsomely rewarded. Then there's the famously bummed Wilco, which sounds downright sunny on its latest album, The Whole Love. Giving the lineup some necessary spark in Jersey is My Morning Jacket, Jim James's ecstatic rock outfit, whose outdoor shows can be truly breathtaking. And the Jones Beach lineup boasts the hip Peter Pan of indie pop, Beck, plus Texas roots man Ryan Bingham. Phew!
