Andrew White has mastered classical oboe and played bass with Stevie Wonder and Weather Report, in addition to running his own record label for more than four decades. But it's the D.C. lifer's meticulous transcriptions of John Coltrane solos that have helped make him a cult hero in the jazz world. White, a dizzyingly virtuosic saxist in his own right, plays a rare local gig in the company of pianist Wade Beach, bassist Steve Novosel and drummer Nasar Abadey.
