Azar Lawrence Quintet

Saxophonist Azar Lawrence made a splash in the early-to-mid-’70s with Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner and others, but faded from view during the ensuing three decades. Lawrence has been back on the NYC scene in recent years, playing the kind of fiery, Coltrane-inspired post-bop he excelled at as a hungry young tenor ace.
