Bang on a Can's hard-charging house band provides fresh sounds for "Reimagining Rimpa," a novel multimedia event inspired by a centuries-old Japanese painting and design tradition. Featured on the program are new pieces by Vijay Iyer and Mamoru Fujieda, a rare airing of Somei Satoh's 2004 piece Shu, and rimpa-inspired projections by animator Nobuyuki Hanabusa.
