Ben Howard + Michael Kiwanuka

Rising English star Ben Howard takes on an at-capacity crowd with his dark, jazz-tinged folk. His debut, Every Kingdom—released by Ben Lovett's label, Communion—is rife with nature references, swoonsome acoustic guitar strums and softly crooned angst. Excellent support comes from Communion labelmate Michael Kiwanuka, a young British soul singer whose honeyed pipes and warm way with melody will stop you in your tracks, especially if you're a fan of such veteran soulsters as Terry Callier; check out his debut album, Home Again, if the sound of that appeals.
