When I go to hear jazz or any music that is supposed to be listened to, I expect to be blown away. It's hard to find the right words to describe the musical event that Igoe has created but suffice to say, it's like nothing I've ever heard. The power and command of this ensemble is awesome so powerful and lush. It's a completely immersive experience. The club is usually packed for their shows so make reservations before you go. Also love Birdland Jazz club too. Great design. Way better than most jazz clubs.

Powerhouse percussionist Tommy Igoe helms Birdland's resident jazz band, which weds swing-era glitz with a funky modern beat. The popular BBB tears up a myriad of classic and original tunes of the jazz, funk and Latin variety, with Igoe’s masterful drumming drawing the ensemble together and raising it to potentially explosive heights. Joining the ensemble for this run is James Genus, a seasoned bassist who has worked with both Herbie Hancock and Daft Punk in recent years.
