Bushwick Book Club

A bit more proactive than your average book club, this excellent monthly event asks songwriters to read something and then create an original song about the work. Participants in this fifth-anniversary edition will be riffing on Kurt Vonnegut's Welcome to the Monkey House (the venue is named for a Vonnegut tome, after all)—and performers include Sweet Soubrette, Susan Hwang of the Debutante Hour and Ken South Rock.
