Drummer Dan Weiss, a local progressive-jazz all-star who also specializes in Indian classical music, curates an eclectic three-night percussion festival. Weiss and brainy guitar ace Miles Okazaki kick things off with a duo set on Jan 8; brilliant, uncompromising drummer-composer Tyshawn Sorey leads a piano trio on Jan 9; and Weiss's tabla mentor, Samir Chatterjee, performs solo on Jan 10.
