A very prominent second fiddle to the great Bill Monroe, Del McCoury is a crucial figure in traditional bluegrass. His most recent albums have featured all the fast-and-furious hee-haw stomp he's been known for since the ’60s. McCoury is a master picker, but it's his tinny old voice that will win you over. Joining him tonight is Kentucky's Sam Bush, who incorporates other genres—including jazz, rock and jam-band-style improvisation—into his trad bluegrass oeuvre, anointing him a newgrass originator. This should be an extremely lively outing.
