Electric Six + The Soft White Sixties

Detroit’s Electric Six celebrates pop music’s primal virtues with a sense of humor. The band’s brand of balls-out disco-punk often attracts the “novelty” label—and there are laughs to be had on every E6 record—but the group’s style and virtuosity keep it from sliding into joke-rock oblivion. And the Six have the fan base to prove it: They hit the Knit in the wake of a highly successful Kickstarter campaign that will fund a two-disc covers-and-rarities set as well as a new studio LP, Human Zoo.
