Generations of the Beat Festival

Revive Music presents a stellar two-night summit, pairing jazz-drumming royalty with rising stars. The Mar 22 bill features the magisterial Jimmy Cobb and postbop powerhouse Jeff "Tain" Watts, along with E.J. Strickland and Joe Dyson; the Mar 24 lineup includes an Elvin Jones tribute project with Billy Hart, avant-garde master Andrew Cyrille (duetting with saxist Oliver Lake) and Return to Forever kit man Lenny White, along with groups led by Kimberly Thompson and Mark Whitfield Jr.
