Glass Candy, the Italodisco-meets-Blondie-in-the-freezer act that has a series of great releases on the Italians Do It Better imprint, has been refining its music over the past decade or so, imbuing its songs with an emotional resonance rarely found in this sound. The band's ever-cool main man, Johnny Jewel (who coruns Italians Do It Better with Mike Simonetti), is doing double duty this evening; his other Euro-synth unit, Chromatics, plays as well.
