He Is Legend

He Is Legend swirls together the last two decades of alt metal—we're hearing White Zombie, the Mars Volta and even a dash of Lamb of God—and ends up with an admirably seamless aesthetic: hard-driving, hooky and packed with cool, proggy twists. The North Carolina outfit may sound MTV-ready (in a 1997 sort of way), but it doesn't pander in the slightest.
