High on Fire + Kvelertak + Doomriders

One of the most acclaimed metal bands of the past decade-plus, High on Fire is also one of the heaviest. There’s nothing particularly surprising about the trio’s meat-and-potatoes doom-thrash, but nevertheless, it remains a headbanger’s dream. Here the band supports last year's quasi-concept record, De Vermis Mysteriis—about Jesus Christ's time-traveling twin!—with help from Kvelertak and Doomriders, stupendously hard-rocking riffsmiths from Norway and Boston, respectively, gigging behind their strong latest offerings: Meir and Grand Blood.
