Industrial music has a reputation for being absurdly humorless, but KMFDM has long been a welcome exception. Since 1984, the band has plied a slick techno-metal hybrid that's influenced tons of better-known groups like the Prodigy and Nine Inch Nails, all the while injecting a refreshing self-awareness (remember the refrain "KMFDM sucks!"?). Still led by cofounder Sascha Konietzko, the band is touring behind a new one, Kunst.
