Time Out says

Lincoln Center Out of Doors. Think you're dealing with a contemporary-classical string quartet? You are—but think again: No other group could raise a tent as big and inclusive as the one the Kronos Quartet is erecting for its 40th anniversary. The agenda includes Fela Kuti's Afrobeat legacy (July 24); contemporary art song from My Brightest Diamond and Emily Wells (July 25); collaborations with Greek, Vietnamese and Irish performers (July 26); a day of family programming (July 27); and a grand finale with new pieces by Amon Tobin, Dan Deacon and other alt-pop outliers, plus support from Asphalt Orchestra and Jacob Garchik. And that's still just scratching the surface, given all the extra guests in nearby spaces; visit lcoutofdoors.org for details.
