Seattle singer-songwriter Laura Veirs has a voice that's clearwater lovely, which she wraps around seemingly simple folkish songs. On Sept 19, she toasts the release of her ninth album, Warp and Weft, which has moments of pleasingly rumbling darkness and has been praised by Neko Case—who sings on the disc along with Jim James and k.d. lang. The record also contains origami paper and instructions to make your own origami crane.
