When it started out in the early ’80s, Japanese hard-rock institution Loudness didn't sound all that different from no-nonsense German outfits like Accept and the Scorpions. The band has grown both weirder and more intense over the years, as evidenced by last year's diverse Eve to Dawn LP. Baroque Staten Island thrashers Sanitarius set the stage.
