Marissa Nadler is one of the more gifted artists to soar through the alt-folk galaxy, her river-clear voice matching itself to simple, lazily paced songs. Here the songsmith plays in support of a 2012 effort, The Sister, with help from Guy Blakeslee—frontman of unhinged California vintage-psych act the Entrance Band—and progressive-minded lute player Jozef van Wissem, whom you might recognize from his recent collaborations with Jim Jarmusch.
