Not long after the sold-out, critically acclaimed run of her opera, Song from the Uproar, at the Kitchen last February, composer Missy Mazzoli hit Twitter with a gleeful proclamation: "Recording opera on the same console that Madonna used for Like a Virgin. My life is complete." It's fitting, then, that she's celebrating its release on New Amsterdam Records in a chic nightclub. Abigail Fischer, the riveting mezzo star of the show, performs selections with the NOW Ensemble, after an opening set by art-pop singer-songwriter Aaron Roche.
