The band known as moe. has been tagged the heir apparent to Phish, and we can’t really argue (even though those guys are back). The group continues to release decent-enough studio efforts and much, much better heady live jams. Here, moe. is celebrating a recent disc, What Happened to the La Las, out on—get this—venerable roots label Sugar Hill, and perhaps unsurprisingly, showing an unusual but effective concision.
