  • I am delighted to learn that these young talents have the opportunity to enrich their gifts by performing with those going before them. There is no better way to build on the foundation of their studies and native talents. Likewise it is indeed heartening to know that those polished by public performances are willing to share their knowledge gained through experience, practice, hard work and the slings and arrows of critics. Thank you Musicians Emerengy Fund.

  • Music is the universal language, and Li Jian is its most eloquent speaker. Don't miss this concert!

  • One of our founding fathers, John Adams, articulated the value of such programs as the MEF far more eloquently than I ever aspire to do. During the Revolutionary War he wrote the following to his beloved Abigail: "The (divine) science of government is my duty to study, more than all other sciences; the arts of legislation, administration and negotiation ought to take the place of, indeed to exclude, in a manner, all other arts. I must study politics and war, that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, tapestry, statuary, and porcelain." Koch, "The American Enlightenment", page 188. Support the Arts, they are the sustenance of our soul! steve gartman

  • I have had the priviledge of hearing the work of Li Jian and he is a supurb artist. The work and devotion these mentors devote to these young artists is incredible and the MEF concerts are always par excellence.

  • MEF concerts are always superb -- absolutely wonderful performances of great music -- and this one promises to carry on the tradition. I try never to miss an MEF concert.
