Naseer Shamma and Al-Oyoun Ensemble

Appearing under the auspices of Iraq Now!, a celebration of contemporary Iraqi culture and art, oud master Naseer Shamma makes his first U.S. appearance in more than a decade, leading his virtuosic Egyptian ensemble Al-Oyoun in an evening of what he terms Arab chamber music: a technically complex modern style steeped in tradition and spirit.
