Time Out says

Despite less-than-ideal acoustics, St. John the Divine is an inspiring place to catch a concert—and seldom more so than when the New York Philharmonic offers its annual free Memorial Day concert. This year the program includes just one piece: Mahler's Symphony No. 9, a work of autumnal mysticism, and one for which conductor Alan Gilbert has a proven affinity. Tickets will be handed out at 6:15pm, but show up early—really early—or don't expect to see much.
