Best known up to now for her airy singing and gritty fiddling in the brilliant young newgrass combo Nickel Creek, Sara Watkins issued a gorgeous, assured eponymous solo album on Nonesuch in 2009, which served notice of an undeniably grown-up talent. Tonight she plays from her equally lovely, even more ambitious sophomore disc from 2012, Sun Midnight Sun. Support comes from gravelly voiced Christopher Porterfield as Field Report, a Wisconsin-based homie of Justin Vernon's who makes thoughtful folk music under his solo guise.
