Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz: Abraxas

Shanir Blumenkranz, a superb bassist and the fulcrum of guitar-heavy quartet Abraxas, leads his band in two nights of John Zorn's music. Tonight's show focuses on Zorn's Masada songbook; on Sat 30, Abraxas plays the world premiere of Metempsychomagia, a collection of gnarly new pieces composed especially for this group.
