After a six-year hiatus, alt-rock veterans Soul Asylum—formed in 1981 in Minneapolis and known for its early-’90s hit “Runaway Train”—returned in 2012 with a new and aptly titled record, Delayed Reaction. In addition to founder Dave Pirner, the group’s revamped lineup features drummer Michael Bland (best known for his work with Prince), rookie bassist Winston Roye and guitarist Justin Sharbono.
