Edo de Waart leads this fine midwestern orchestra in a program packed with exotic wonders. It begins with Messiaen's mysterious, mystical triptych Les offrandes oubliées, followed by Debussy's musical rendering of the Mediterranean's ebb and flow, La mer. The concert ends with Qigang Chen's Iris dévoilée, featuring a number of soloists on traditional Chinese instruments.
