The Oxford-spawnedindie-folk band Stornoway—a big-ish deal back home—released its debut album, Beachcomber's Windowsill, on 4AD in 2010, and now return to the U.S. to plug a shiny new disc, Tales From Terra Firma. Fans of Belle & Sebastian and the Shins are sure to dig their pretty, smart, snappy tunes. Also on the bill is gravelly voiced Christopher Porterfield, a Wisconsin-based homie of Justin Vernon's who makes thoughtful folk music under his solo guise, Field Report.
