Sufjan Stevens may have abandoned his project to write an album ode to every American state years ago, but the 37-year-old’s dedication to spreading his slightly bonkers strain of festive cheer is unswerving. This tour coincides with the release of his five-EP Christmas box set, and has been christened "The Surfjohn Stevens Christmas Sing-a-Long Seasonal Affective Disorder Yuletide Disaster Pageant on Ice" tour. Although it seems unlikely that Stevens has the power to turn the Bowery Ballroom into an ice rink, audiences can expect a thoroughly heartwarming, decidedly off-kilter take on seasonal traditions and tunes.
