Wyclef, Living Colour, Amel Larrieux and G. Love were among the artists picked to perform renditions of their favorite Jimi Hendrix songs at SummerStage's gala night, kicking off its 27th season. Besides the hip-hop, soul and blues twists on Hendrix classics offered by the likes of the Roots, Bebel Gilberto added a hybrid combination of electronica and bossa nova to her favorite Jimi jam, where concertgoers packed together like sardines under the tents to pay tribute to the wild-haired rock legend. Photographer Bill Kelly got a chance to capture this eclectic bill.
