The Defibulators' dark, twangy honky-tonk features a wailing violin and coed vocals on its latest, Corn Money. Nicely matched support comes from the Villalobos Brothers, blending classical, jazz and traditional jarocho Mexican music, most awe-inspiringly using the violin—or rather three violins, which the brothers play in their own "fast-chatting violin" style to suggest the human voice.
