Since his gorgeous 2010 debut Gemini, Jack Tatum has mined '80s sounds as Wild Nothing to make deliciously dreamy indie pop. His new Life of Pause continues that project but dips into inspirational sources from the era that are surprisingly mature: for instance, Steve Reich vibraphone arrangements on the fittingly titled "Reichpop."
