Yelena Eckemoff Quartet

Yelena Eckemoff, a Russian pianist now living in North Carolina, specializes in reflective yet intense postbop, informed by her heavy-duty classical background. As evidenced by her new disc, A Touch of Radiance, featuring saxist Mark Turner, vibraphonist Joe Locke, bassist George Mraz and drummer Billy Hart, she tends to keep sterling company. This gig, with Mraz, saxist Donny McCaslin and drummer Eric McPherson, is no different.
