Arts & Leisure Weekend is happening now
Thu Jan 7 2010
If you didn't get tickets to the Top Chef discussion taking place during The New York Times' Arts & Leisure Weekend, then you're out of luck; the event, a talk between TC judges Padma Lakshmi and Gail Simmons, moderated by former Times restaurant critic Frank Bruni, is sold out. But there are plenty of other options available: You could go see theater critic Patrick Healy interview Alan Cumming, pictured at left, who will portray the Green Goblin in the much-anticipated Spider-Man musical; or maybe you'd prefer a chat between hunky actor (and occasional TONY cover boy) Liev Schreiber and critic Lynn Hirschberg. In any case, there are plenty of events happening between now and Sunday, January 10; check the fest's website for more details and tickets.
Don't feel like sitting through a lecture this weekend? You can still enrich your brainmeats as part of the festival. Museums and other cultural institutions around the city are offering a special two-for-one discount pass as part of the Times' culture weekend. Simply print the voucher from the fest's website, and you're good to go at places like the Brooklyn Museum, the New Museum and the Museum of the City of New York.
