Fake 'em out

It may be the big, vintage-loving sister of youthful chain Urban Outfitters, but Anthropologie is now offering more than just granny-chic cardigans and Parisian flea-market chairs. Its freshly minted "gallery" at the Rockefeller flagship (50 Rockefeller Plaza between 50th and 51st Sts, 212-627-5885) shines the spotlight on emerging talent. We loved its first installation by wallpaper artist Deborah Bownes, whose trompe l'oeil panels are part of the Victoria & Albert Museum's permanent collections. These "Genuine Fakes from London" are also for sale at the store ($68--$1,400). Bownes herself installed the room with her Hooks and Frocks series (pictured), which we think would make an excellent cover-up for that weird brown stain on our wall.
