Last-minute plan: Stan Lee and Steve Ditko at MoCCA (sort of)
Thu Feb 4 2010
Tonight's special event at the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (594 Broadway between Houston and Prince Sts; 212-254-3511, moccany.org) could only be devised by a brilliant comic-addled mind: Craig Yoe, the cartoonist and author (among many other things) will sit down for an interview with "faux Steve Ditko" (cocreator of Spider-Man and Dr. Strange) and "faux Stan Lee." How does that work? Well, ever a student of the comic-book game, Yoe has delved into the archives and unearthed old interviews with the two legends. Tonight, he'll recreate them with the help of two celebrity impersonators. Think of it as Frost/Nixon for Spidey fans.
The event will start at 7pm and run for about an hour; tickets are $5. If you're interested in the real Steve, be sure to check out The Art of Ditko, a retrospective of the enigmatic artist's work compiled by Yoe.
