You've got somewhere new to enjoy the summer sun now, as Hudson River Park's Piers 62 and 63 (W 22nd to 23rd Sts at the Hudson River, hudsonriverpark.org; 8am--dusk) opened to the public this morning. Added to Pier 64, you've now got nine acres to frolic in, including a great lawn for picnics, a public garden in which to pause and smell the flowers, a rock garden designed by artist Meg Webster in which to get all zen, a Californian-style skate park to break some bones in (Open Road of New York organized today's skaters), and a carousel on which to pretend you're a carefree child again. The carousel opens on Memorial Day (if not earlier), and rides are $2.

Add this to TONY's five great green spaces beyond Central Park and you can leave Sheep Meadow behind forever.
