Today's photo comes from the Brooklyn Historical Society archives: "This photo, by Brooklyn photography studio E. Van Altena & Co., was taken at the intersection of Bedford Avenue and Heyward Street, and shows Brooklyn's Memorial Day parade. It is the longest continuously-run Memorial Day parade in the United States, and has happened every year since 1867."
