Captain James Tiberius Kirk's date of birth was never really established (though a plaque in Iowa marks it as March 22), but that doesn't mean that Trekkers shouldn't celebrate the life of the erstwhile captain of the USS Enterprise with a giant party. At the Shat Ball, held at the Knitting Factory Brooklyn on Tuesday and hosted by the comic due the Raspberry Brothers, a group of Star Trek fanatics did just that: the improv group Start Trekkin', which pays homage to the original Trek series, performed a set; Trek films were screened; and Fall On Your Sword performed as well.
