Photographs by Syd London

While it might be early to call Go Magazine's annual nightlife awards NYC's lesbian event of the year, it's hard to imagine what could top it, at least in terms of sheer size. Seemingly every lady-loving lady in the city was dressed to the nines and packed into Chelsea megaclub M2 (which is on the same block as both the Eagle and Scores—making for some fun crowd mingling on the street). Big winners included Metropolitan (Best Brooklyn Bar), Murray Hill (Best Lounge Act) and Dred (Best Spoken-Word Artist). TONY photographer Syd London took home a plaque for Best Drag Kings, as part of the ensemble Switch N' Play. Go's Amy Lesser kept the awards moving along at breakneck pace (ably assisted by cohost Dani Campbell). One of the night's big draws was a DJ set from actor Michelle Rodriguez, who sadly hid out in the booth all night. But with a crowd this frisky and sexy, who needs Hollywood?
