You Gonna Eat That?
Mon Nov 13 2006
Today we're interrupting the lunch of managing editor Ethan LaCroix. He lives in Brooklyn, appreciates when people meet their deadlines and, as we just found out, is French Canadian.

What do we have here?
This is the Steak House sandwich from Quiznos—the one on 34th Street and Eighth Avenue.
How is it?
It's good. It doesn't look very nice but it tastes delicious.
What's that sauce?
Horseradish, which I like because I'm French Canadian. And the other one is au jus—
If you will, and I will...
The meat is kind of gray, which is kind of sad, and there's not that much of it. In the commercials they make it look like you're getting this big, fresh, meaty red pile. But it still tastes good.
Out of a possible six stars what would you give this meal?
I'd give it a three.

NOT A BIG, FRESH, MEATY RED PILE
Unconvinced by Ethan's lunch selection? Gray-but-delicious three-star meat not quite doing it for you? We hit up the Eat Out crew for their tips. Because we care:
Best steak sandwiches: Philly Slim's
Best steaks in recent memory: Wolfgang's Tribeca, Strip House
Best steak in the Meatpacking District scene: STK
Best grass-fed steak: Craftsteak
