Your 1 Thing for Today: Friday, Nov 10
Fri Nov 10 2006
ACTUALLY, IT WAS BASED ON A MOVIE SO IT'S NOT THAT WEIRD, BUT IT'S KIND OF WEIRD, IF BY WEIRD YOU MEAN COOL
We didn't watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer in high school because we were busy having sex. Not really, we didn't have sex in high school, because we were busy being dorks. Wait a minute, come to think of it, we were already out of high school when Buffy was on. Right? Wait, no. Maybe? We are pushing old after all. Hence the foggy memories, stewed prunes and predilection for washing our 'hose in the sink. So while we may not have every line of "Once More, with Feeling," that classic musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the one from season six, the one that's apparently a cultural phenomenon, memorized, we'd still head to the IFC Center tonight at midnight—or, bonus, tomorrow at midnight—for the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer Sing-Along" to watch the lyrical hoo-ha on the big screen. There are subtitles and everything. Plus a Buffy-oke (like karaoke, not like artichoke) contest before hand, trivia, gift bags, prizes and more. Advance tickets are sold out, but you can try your luck at standby.
