Al Di La Vino

Lower East Side
This sassy small-plates restaurant does a brisk trade in cocktails and chat-up lines. Pale-pumpkin walls, bleached wood floors and farmhouse tables give way to the real draw: an ample, breezy outdoor patio, with a white wall crawling with vines on one side. The well-executed dishes reveal Argentine accents, like slivers of steak topped with bright-green chimichurri. Crisp lollipops of chorizo arrive on sticks poking out from a wooden board, while pale rounds of pulpo (octopus), their suction cups intact, are dusted in paprika. As night descends, the Latin-tinged music and free-flowing sangria fuel the crowd, and everyone parties like it’s 1492.
