Though this stretch of Clinton Hill is in dire need of a good local restaurant, this eclectic bistro isn’t it. Autour du Monde’s identity crisis begins with its name (it translates to “round the world” in French) and continues on with international dishes like Gallic duck confit, off-tasting Persian saffron-and-white-wine-marinated chicken and codfish-potato croquettes served with three Asian dips. Concluding the voyage were desserts, like an oversweet pear tarte Tatin. Autour should heed this travel advice: A journey is usually better when you spend more time in fewer places.
