Time Out says

This peasant-food haven has been dishing out hearty, delicious food for more than 40 years. Less a restaurant than a lunch counter, Cabo Rojo serves straightforward Puerto Rican fare like sancocho (a hearty soup) and pollo asado (roasted chicken). Daily specials sometimes run out before dinnertime, so come earlier in the day and join the policemen, Hispanic locals from the (old) neighborhood and, yes, arty types.
