Description
A greasy spoon with a sense of humor (check out the goofily huge hot-dog photomural), Schnäck has a knack for burgers: Order up to five small patties stacked on a single bun, with a full array of toppings (“Schnäck sauce,” spicy onions, hearty chili, sloppy kraut, etc.). Prices have gone up in recent years, but it’s still the only joint in the ’hood where you can get a $1.65 miniburger. Buttermilk-soaked onion rings, fried up crisp, are sprinkled with salt and parsley—we’ve been known to scrape the basket for crumbs. Don’t leave without a beer milk shake: stout and ice cream, together at last.
