You could easily miss this worthy subterranean spot if it weren’t for the sign painted on a doorway over an inconspicuous set of stairs. Descend them and you’ll encounter burnt-yellow walls displaying taxidermy, mismatched wood tables and medieval-style arched passageways that lead to different rooms. Beer is a star here, with 14 quality selections on tap (23 in the bottle), many of which also make it into the slow-food dishes filled with organic ingredients. A hearty beef stew, for example, is made with Victory IPA, and mussels are steamed in Belgian gueuze lambic.
