If the country-bistro feel and cheery demeanor of Gavroche’s patrons don’t instantly win you over, the irresistible aromas of its traditional French cooking will. Simple wooden seating with checkered tablecloths, a sweet little bar and a blackboard with one daily special announce that the real focus here is the sumptuous cuisine. The wild-mushroom ravioli with white truffle oil and Parmesan appetizer is not to be missed; braised duck in lingonberry sauce with diced potatoes and grilled dorado with fennel, carrots and chilled sweet potatoes are excellent reminders that the French do indeed know everything.
