Description
The jam-packed solo debut from chef Akhtar Nawab (Craft, EU) features an eclectic, Indian-inflected menu and a top-tier cocktail program. The shabby-chic dining room directs all eyes toward the open kitchen, where the sometimes-inconsistent fare (see the duck breast mismatched with a dense, Indian-spiced ground-duck sauce) is executed. But gems can be found: We loved the crispy quail, served with a deep-fried soft-boiled quail egg and frisée with pomegranate-bacon vinaigrette. If the ambitious Nawab finds his voice, Elettaria could evolve from moderate hit to the sensation it aspires to be.
